TI2013, Windows 8 64bit, Change Out OS Drive

Thread needs solution

Forgive my confusion-I have sniffed around the forum but can't really find a direct answer for my question.

I have a new HP Laptop that came with Windows 8 64bit on a 750GIG HDD. I am changing that out to an SSD (before installing all of my software).

I have Migrate Easy 7.0, but that evidently doesn't work with W8.

I have TI2012 Home and TI2012 Home Plus Pak, but those evidently don't work with W8 either.

No worries. I'll pick up TI2013 and TI2013 Plus Pak. Will this provide the functionality to migrate the W8 64 bit OS to the SSD satisfactorily, and provide me the ability to back up my OS drive to my laptop's second drive (a 1TB "hybrid")? I do presume so...just wanted to make sure.

Thanks much.

You could achieve this migration with 2012 (no need for the Plus Pack) IF your recovery CD works on your computer (you will have to disable UEFI bios, disable the secure boot and/or enable legacy boot, depending on your BIOS options). When I say works, I mean you can boot, launch ATI running for the CD, see your disks (disk to backup, and backup destination). Then you can do a backup and you should have no problem restoring to an SSD.

Worst, you can upgrade to 2013 to do this operation.

You might want to upgrade anyway to 2013 for regular operations, but you might not need to for this migration.

Thank you! I'll probably update to 2013 anyway as I'm a bit obsessive about software currency...
