Backup to DVDs on WIN8

Thread needs solution

Is anyone using True Image 2013 to backup a Windows 8 harddisk to DVDs and then if recovery is needed, to recover from the DVDs?

For now I would just like to know if anyone has done this successfully, at least to the point of clicking RECOVER to see that it will start the process??

Backing up directly to DVD's is troublesome for many. I suggest that you try a different method if possible.

Create a full disk image backup onto an external or spare internal drive (with verification turned on) and in the disk backup options, have Acronis split the backup files into 4GB (or 8.5GB for DL) pieces. Then using good quality disk burning software and blank DVD's, create a data DVD with each of the 4GB pieces contained onto it. Create the CD/DVD Rescue Media, then boot to the Rescue Media and do a vaildation of the DVD set.

I use this method to make my own "Re-Installtion Media". I find this method is reliable (and has been used for restores), but making direct DVD based backups with True Image has failed more often than suceeded.
