Acronis TI 11 Home - partition resizing doesn't work
Just had to use my TI 11 for the first time to actually restore a crashed HD. Manual says you can resize the partition when doing this. I went back and forth through all the screens several times and there is no place that asks you if you want to resize. I tried all possible combinations of selections thinking resizing only works for certain combos, but no luck.
I'm using the original boxed retail CD of Acronis. The HD has one partition (55GB) and some unpartitioned space (37GB), which are both shown correctly on one of the screens
Anybody have any idea what's going on with that?

Grover, thanks. I read the info and found no help for my specific question.
It is version 11, not 2011. When going through the sequence for restoring (in safe mode), there is no opportunity to change the partition size.

Ian,
One thing you might try would be to following one of my current guides.
Click on link #3 below and look at item #1 inside that link. This is a procedure whereby you restore only one partition at a time and you "should" be able to change the size of the partition as it is being restored into unallocated space. The target has to be blank or unformatted space for this to work.

Thank you. There are many ways I can resize a partition, that wasn't my question.
Acronis states (in the manual for that version) that you can resize when doing a restore by simply selecting that option in one of the dialog screens. I was surprised when I couldn't do that and I thought I missed something. If the manual is wrong, well, maybe I need better software :)
Appreciate the help.

page 53 of the v11 manual shows what Acronis offers as its resizing option. This is the same basic option which exists in all the versions and is what I illustrate in my guies when resizing is necessary.
The safe mode of version 10 has this and I would "believe" that V11 safe mode would have the same.
One thing for sure, the backup software is not a partitioning tool but does enable a user to rezize a partition smaller or make a partiton larger--assuming that you have unallocated space adjacent for expansion.
Whether is meets your definition that is up for you to decide. I am not an employee nor an associateof Acronis and will not argue which features it has or does not have.

Acronis advertises they will assist in recovery issues so if contact them, they may be able to assist.
