Moving License back to old pc temporarily

Thread needs solution

I am moving files from an older PC to a new one. I transfered the license to the new machine and restored files from backup to a new location. I forgot about user permissions, so now the files at their new location on the new machine are unaccessible. Deleteing these transfered files and then restoring them with the switch for not restoring user permissions has not worked.
Can I move the license back to the old machine so I can make a new backup with file permissions OFF then move the license back to the new machine and restore to new location, hopefully allowing the folder into which they are restored to give it's user rights to the transfered files?
That is; move license back to old pc -->make clean backup --> move license back to new machine -->restore clean backup to new machine.
Is this possible, and is there a better alternative?

Peter,

You can move your Acronis licence back, you just need to re install it which will deactivate your current copy or use the recovery CD.

But possibly easier would be to add your current user permissions to your old files, to do this you need to right click on either each file or if in a folder right click the folder, select 'the permissions tab' and then click on advanced, from here add your current user name,(click on check name so it is in the right format) and then click OK, make sure that the propergate/hereditary option is checked. Depending on the amount of files that need to be changed will depend on how long the reassignment of permissiosn will take.
