One problem in Plus Pack installation...

Thread needs solution

I bought TIH 2011 upgrade with Plus Pack today and installed the TIH 2011 to my drive E: in which all the applications are (because my C: drive doesn't have any space for apps so I have moved etc apps to different drive). Now the problem is that why I can't change the Plus Pack installation directory to E:\Acronis\TIH 2011 at all? The installer of the latest Plus Pack does not have an option called "Custom", just "Typical" and "Complete". Can you fix this issue so I can change the installation directory in Plus Pack installer to point at the same dir where I installed the TIH 2011?

Thanks

Hello Panu,

Thank you for posting and welcome to our forum. I will definitely help you with this.

By default, Acronis True Image 2011 Home Plus Pack installs to the same directory where Acronis True Image 2011 Home is, that is why there are no installation options. There are some components that are installed to this folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis even if you selected to install the main program and the Plus Pack component on your E: drive.

Should you have additional questions or any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you.

Has this ever been resolved? I'm having the exact same issue at the moment. My C drive is a SSD, and I have installed True Image Home to my Raid 1 D drive, so as to ensure that my backup software will operate on the drives with fault tolerance. I was able to change the directory in True Image Home, but the Plus Pack has no such option. What can be done to resolve this issue?

By the way, I read this:

"13634: Acronis True Image Home 2011: Installation of Acronis Plus Pack"

Where it states:

"(!) The Plus Pack add-on will be installed in the same folder with Acronis True Image Home 2011. Hence, there is no option for a custom installation path."

However, check my file attachment, the destination is clearly my C drive, despite the fact that I installed True Image Home to my D drive.

Awesome, I went to "Disk Backup" and "Configure disk backup process" and I essentially can't backup my D drive without the Plus Pack. Granted, I wouldn't expect a failure of both drives, but I still planned to backup periodically to my server. Basically, I can't backup my local backup drive until this issue is resolved.

Aaron,

Simply move your ATI 2011 installation back to the C:\ drive. If you have the space (on Win 7 x64, I need only 202MB for Acronis in the programs folder).

NB: I use and SSD as well. I have the plus pack also. Note that if you have a working bootable CD, you have some of hte redundancy/security you are seeking by installing on a RAID 1.

I appreciate your reply, and it is a useful and workable option; however, it does not meet my needs. Thank you for taking the time to assist me, it's good there's a strong community on these forums.

Unfortunately, I am not really interested in moving my ATI 2011 installation to the C drive. I have it on my D drive for a reason. A genuine question here, why even have the option to choose your installation directory for ATI 2011 if it breaks the ability to add functionality with the Plus Package? What I want is actually quite simple, ATI 2011 and the Plus Package on my D drive. If this isn't possible, I just want someone from Acronis to acknowledge this fact, and tell me if it's in the works, or if I should look elsewhere for this functionality. It doesn't seem unreasonable of me to want both of these items installed on the D drive. ATI 2011 is already on the D drive.

I also would like to install the Plus software on my E Drive where the ATI 2011 is installed. Not on C Drive!

Hello all,

Thank you for posting. I will do my best to help you with this issue.

If you install the program on the E: drive, the space taken by Acronis software is allocated the following way:

1. About 85 MB on the E: drive.

2. C:Program Files\Common Files\Acronis about 100 MB.

3. C:Program Files\Acronis about 30 MB.

The Acronis Plus Pack is installed partly on the C: drive and partly on the E: drive.

I understand how this is inconvenient if you need to save space on drive C:. I will forward an enhancement request to our Development team. You can also submit your feedback from this link.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hello all,

I have the same problem.

TI2011 is installed on drive D:\Program Folders\Acronis... = 86MB
OnlineBackup ingnors the destination path (!) and is installed on C:\Programm Folders\Acronis ... = 23MB
So Plus Pack is also automaticly installed on C:\Program Folders\Acronis... = 108MB

Thank you

Yup! Same problem. Just installed Windows 8 on a 30GB SSD that I was running XP on with plenty of room but windows 8 took up twice the space and I now need all the room I can get but cannot install this program on any of my other partitions. Bummer........

Oops! I just re-installed it for the third time and noticed a little box to check (forgot what it said). It allowed me to fully install the whole program to a separate partition. Excellent!!. Thanks a bunch :)
