Backup SSD to HDD very slow

Thread needs solution

I've recently migrated to a new SSD drive for my system drive.

I used Acronis true image home 2013 Clone Tool in DOS with the Rescue Media CD to migrate to SSD.

The system works great and I've done the system tweaks for SSD's.

I want to convert my SATA to AHCI from IDE.

First I needed to backup my system drive before I make changes.

I used Acronis true image home 2013 with pluspack to do a drive backup.

I backed up the SSD drive to another internal SATA HDD but the backup is unbearably slow.

It's only 93GB but it's taking three and a half hours to backup.

My old C drive had 350GB of data when it had my games and music on there and a backup took just 40 minutes.

Three and a half hours for just 93GB I thought SSD drives were supposed to speed things up.

Is it possible that you selected the "sector-by-sector" backup option?

SOLVED: I checked the settings it seems Two drives were selected for backup instead of one. One of which was the destination backup drive where the backup was being saved to.

Unticked other drive and backup ran for 16 minutes using 58GB.

I don't know how the destination drive became selected.
