Restore: is this normal (attached screenshot)

Thread needs solution

Hello.

I am testing a new server with the backup solution Acronis. Today I test the recovery. My backup medium is a streamer. I make a recovery task and the server (Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit) shows following screen since long time after reboot:

(please look at attached screenshot-file)

Is this normal?

Thank you for helping

Ralf

Whats the matter?

Hi Ralf,
was it a volume backup of a disk?
If yes, Acronis (or you, if not permitted within the recovery job) have to reboot the recovered machine because the partition table of the recovered drive hase been changed.
That's what your posted message says - please reboot the target machine.
But I think you did it already...

Regards, Ralf

Hello All,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

It seems, that you run into a limitation of recovery from tape. At this Web Help page you find at point four:

You cannot recover under an operating system from a backup stored on tapes if the recovery requires the operating system reboot. Use bootable media to perform such recovery.

If you need additional assistance, please create a system report of the affected machine and contact support. You will find all available support options in our Customer handbook.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
