Full backup created before all increments for previous full backup created

Thread needs solution

I have an incremental backup job set to create a new full backup after every 20 increments (TI 2013).

The first full backup, 20 increments, and next full backup were created successfully, but then another full backup was created after just 10 increments. The name was strange, ending in _full_b2_s1_v1-2.tib

Why was the full backup created after 10 increments? Why was it named _full_b2_s1_v1-2.tib rather than _full_b3_s1_v1.tib ?

I've searched the help files and forum for an explanation but failed to find one, not even the significance of the -2 at the end of the volume name.

Is there any chance you did any of the following?
a. Edited or made changes in the backup task configuration?
b. restore a prior backup?
c. Moved or deleted a tib backup file

Any of the above could cause what happened.

Naming discussed at this link.

No, I'm 100% sure I didn't do any of those things. At least not knowingly.

Oddly, this evening's incremental backup failed. It seemed as confused as I am by the v1-2 file.

I'm going to start a new series of backups and then delete the v1-2 file.

Do the deletion from inside the TI program.

Start the new task pointing to an empty storage folder.
