Acronis Drive Cleanser - MBR

Thread needs solution

Hi guys,

i have a little question about ADC

i want to do a clean installation of Win7 on my pc because i have lost my backup image

i want to use Acronis Drive Cleanser to erase "to zero" my hd but i don t know if this operation would erase "to zero" also the mbr

so can i be sure that when i do this clean the MBR would be erased "to zero" completely?

thank you in advance

Liuk,
After wiping a disk (3-4 passes is sufficient) ADC can reformat the drive which is the default last step after a wipe is performed. This should be enough, but if you want to revert the drive to a uninitialized state, use the DISKPART command.

clean [all]

Use the clean command to remove partition or volume formatting from the current in-focus disk by zeroing sectors. By default, only the MBR or GPT partitioning information and any hidden sector information on MBR disks is overwritten. If you specify the all parameter, each and every sector can be zeroed, and all data that is contained on the drive can be deleted.

Thank you for the answer.

but if i use the Windows console that is used to repair the system and from the DOS c:\ i type the command "fixmbr" and "fixboot" is it the same things?
From that console can i use the command "clean [all]"?

thank you in advance
