How do I restore *.tib files stored on USB HD on computer not having Acronis TI?

Backup your data files in their native format using Windows Explorer, Karen's Replicator, SyncBack, etc. Makes a good second level of defence in case something goes wrong with the TI archive.

Another vote for what Seekforever said. If you want to save some space use the built in .zip format in Windows - not in True Image. No need to make something more complicated than necessary.

Thank you both for your replies but neither solves my problem. The files I am backing up into *.tib files contain hundreds of folders each of which has many subfolders and hundreds of files. These files and folders/subfolders change weekly. I first perform a full backup of these folders (the first tib file) and thereafter, incremental backups (the other tib files). It would take far too much disk space to do a full backup of these data each day, which is what you are suggesting by just copying all the original files via Windows Explorer. Short of the full backup, I'd have to know exactly which of the hundreds of files have been newly added or modified and just back up those, again much more difficult than just doing an incremental backup.

As Seekforever has suggested, Karen's Rep, or SyncBack will do that for you. The first instance will, of course, take some time, but future updates will copy only what has been changed.

I also use Karen's Replicator and think its great. It is easy to use and does the job without fail. User designates which folders are to be copied onto a user choice destination. This could be your usb travel drive and User options is substantial.

A. The first pass Karen will replicate each and every folder and file within the user designated backup selection. The selection can be a little or a lot. This takes some time but it is not extensive.

B. The next time Replicator is run, it will copy only those files and folders which have changed. The run is fairly quick.

In addition to my normal use of True Image full disk backups, I use Replicator to copy some special files each night to another internal drive so I always have some current copies of specific folder in a different location. Replicator files are simply normal copies of the file as it exists in your Windows system. Perhaps the copied files will even fit on a large size flash drive.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I downloaded Karen's Replicator and tried it. It works very well and does exactly what I wanted. I guess Acronis TI is just too strong a tool to do the simple task I wanted. Thanks again for all your comments.

It's not that ATI is too strong, just that it backs up into a proprietary format.

This is fricken dumb. I am trying to help a cleint who bought your software, had a virus, did an image restore, half way through, the image was corrupt, so he is left with a non working PC.I booted him up on the www.UBCD4WIN.com and the drive is there, and I have his images on the USB drive and NOW I find out there is no disaster recovery system or some small program that can resore the image??
It allhas to be through a GUI!??So what, do I have to install windows, install your program then restore the image??
