Help required - BU versions
I seem to have messed up my BU versions, possibly by changing the schedules and/or possibly by deleting versions in Windows Explorer.
I have scheduled 4-Incremental versions to be followed by a Full version. I wish to keep the last full chain and have set "Store no more than one recent version chains."
However, currently in Windows Explorer one partition has a Full/3-inc/Full (the time-line shows just the latest Full), a second partition has Full/5-Inc (time-line shows the same) and a third partition has Full/7-Inc (the time-line shows the same).
a) How can I correct the situation?
b) Or will it sort out itself?
c) Or how do I start again?
Regards.....Noel

If your backup scheme looks like this example except that your 4 would be listed instead of th 6 incrmentals.,
and your 1 would be listed instead of the 4 chains, then your scheme is set corrrectly.

If scheme set correctly and you made changes to the backup task such as changes in number of inc or chains, then it will probably correct itself but it probably started over following your changes so you will need to give it time to work it self out.
Or, you can cease to use the old tasks and create new tasks pointing to a new empty sub-folder.
The rules I practice is "no edits or changes to the task". I do not use the "edit backup settings" option.
A change of schedule can be done from the main menu without using the "edit backup settings" function.

Many thanks GroverH. I think I changed my schedules two or three times following installation.
I think your rule is a good one, I rather took for granted the way the program worked.
I'll allow a couple more scheduled back-ups, as I feel the schedule should clear itself, 'though the developers may not cater with users like me, in which case I'll start again!
Regards, thanks for your usual speedy and invaluable help.
