Confirmation of appropriate backup procedure

Thread needs solution

May sound stupid but have been a user of ATI for five years and upgrade each year but still don't know what I am doing. Have purchased Plus each year but went to Premium 2014. Never knew what I was to do with Plus. Now I am having doubts that I have been backing up correctly. Have made bootable disks at least twice a year. W7 64 quad w/500GB Laptop
Currently do only FULL BACKUP about every six to eight weeks to a 2TB external drive. Keeping 2 older copies.
Have been through the forum postings and knowledge base every time I upgrade but never have the time to call in the warranty period. Might add that most of what I have read assumes we know what the writer/tech knows.
Looking for confirmation that FULL BACKUP in ATI Premium 2014 and creation of boot disk is all that is needed to restore a failed HD, or a single file, or to increase HD size. Do we need to use the auxiliary Premium pgms to create or to restore?

As long as you include ALL partitions of your system disk in your full backup, you are fine. Ideally, when you set up your backup, switch to disk mode and select the entire disk.

Premium adds some features that might be useful (a) Universal Restore allows you to restore the image of COmputer A onto COmputerB (b) you can create a WinPE-based recovery disk if the native Linux-based recovery CD doesn't support your hardware, (b) you can use dynamic disks as destinations or data sources.
