install Image on a smaller partition

Thread needs solution

Hello

I bought a new computer, which has a 1 TB hard disc + preinstalled Windows 7.
I made an image of this configuration.
But: this HD is too big for me, so I'll exchange with my son's 500 MB device.
This HD has 2 partitions, one with 100 MB (and on the remaining space are important files, I don't want to loose) and restore the image from the 1 TB disc on that 100MB partition. The backupped datas from the 1 TB HD are 30 MB, so there should't be space problems.
Because I have made bad experience with another product rather earlier in doing a similar task, I want this time ask before:
what have I to do, when I want to restore the image on a smaller partition of a 2nd hard disc without the loss of the second partition (as happened with the other product)?
Makes True image problems, because it "knows" that the source image is from a bigger partition than the desired HD has?
The manual didn't answer my problem.

thank you

Go read the Stickies, in particular Grover's -- restoring to a smaller patition isn't any diff than restoring to a larber one -- assuming that the image to be restored is small enough to fit.
