ATIH 2012 can't create bootable on new USB stick

Thread needs solution

I have a new USB stick I just bought today, 4GB SanDisk. Rescue Media cannot see it when I try to build bootable media. Format is FAT32.

An older USB stick I have is buildable, but I don't want to use it. Is there something with newer USB sticks that needs to be changed so it can be used as bootable media?

Windows 7

Avoid SanDisk due to its dual partitions. Try to use DISKPART and do a clean and recreate the partition type or use a disk partitioning utilty. Most any other brand seems to work ok.

Did not see more than one partition using Windows disk management. But I deleted the partition and created a new one, formatted to Fat32 with 1024 sized clusters. Still can't see the USB in rescue media builder.

Noticed that Win sees 3.73 GB, but when it is done formatting, there is a 2MB area that remains unformatted and I can't do anything with it. Might have to get some external software to make it whole...

Ok, I downloaded and used EaseUS partition manager. Deleted partition, re-created, had to play around with deleting the unused portion. Finally got it, one single partition. Created and formatted using FAT32, default (4096), active partition. Windoze is just fine with it, but ATIH2012 STILL cannot see it as a boot device. I can see it if I try to create a backup to it, just not to boot from.

I find creating a usb flash drive bootable to Grub4Dos very easy to do.
I have the procedure on both flash drives, usb disks, and one internal disk inside a desktop computer with multiiple disks.
I can boot to the internal and then have a menu where I can choose from multiple choices of past versions of TrueImge.
