Excluding folders from file backup

Thread needs solution

I can't find any way of excluding specific folders from a FILE backup. Attached is a screenshot of the help page describing how to exclude folders, but it mentions a Browse button which is nowhere to be found on the Exclusions tab (also attached).

Manually entering a path does not allow me to press the Add button (it gets greyed out).

DISK backups do have the Browse button, but the help file does not explain this so I'm not sure if it's intended for this feature to be missing from file backups.

This is on TI 2014 build 6614.

Before anyone says "just deselect that folder", that can have unintended consequences. For example:

Folder structure:

c:\+root++subfolder1++subfolder2

1. Create a backup that includes c:\root2. Deselect subfolder2. Note that "root" is now no longer checked but "grey"3. Create subfolder3 in c:\root. Note that subfolder3 is not automatically included in the backup.

Upon further experimentation it appears that TI is smart enough to include new subfolders created in partially selected folders. However, there's no visual indication whether a partial selection is inclusive or exclusive, which can deliver unexpected results.

To ensure predictable results, I would like to be able to either:
1. Tell inclusive/exclusive selections apart, or
2. Configure exclusions separately.
