Acronis True Image 2010 Standard cannot create files for a 4TB Seagate Desk Drive

Thread needs solution

I am using the latest build of Acronis True Image 2010 (TrueImage2010.7160_s_en.exe)
I wanted to make an image of my PC. Used the CD to boot to Acronis and then chose "Backup Disk" and it showed both my external 4TB Seagate Desk drive and my PC hard disks. I chose PC hard disks and tried to create a new backup archive on the external drive and it just doesn't seem to recognize the external hard disk. I tried the same on two different computers and it does not seem to see the file system on the external hard drive.

This works fine when I use 1TB or below external hard disks.

I am using the Linux version booting through the CD.

Thanks for your help.

Your 4TB external drive is using a GPT partition scheme in order to address more than 2TB. True Image products prior to 2013 are not compatible with GPT disks.
