Access problem in LAN

Thread needs solution

Hi

4 computers in LAN: WXP, W7, W8 and W8.1
Under Windows I can access all 3 other computers without user name and password.

When I start the W8 computer with the Acronis CD I can access the WXP without and the W8.1 computer with user name and password.

However when I try to access the W7 computer I have to give user name and password in the dialogue "Authentifizierungseinstellungen".When I do so I get an error message saying that the connection failed and I had to check my user name or password.

How can I access the Acronis image on W7 from W8 using the Acronis CD?

Thanks and regards

You can disable the Administrator Account in Win 7.

Open an Admin (elevated) Command Prompt

Type - net user administrator /active:no

You should see a message that the command completed successfully.

The built in Administrator account will now be disabled.

If you wish to reactivate this account, from an Admin Command Prompt type - net user administrator /active:yes

Thanks for your assistance, Bob. However it does not work here. I have disabled Admin accunt in Win 7 (with confirmation message). But trying to access Win7 form the Win 8 computer still asks user name and password and brings the same error message. Any other idea?

Thanks and regards

My complaint was rash - sorry! Your administrator trick works *after* reboot. Thanks again.
