2013 True Image consolodation problem

Thread needs solution

Hi,

True image was having timeout issue consolodating disk backup to my NAS drive (1.2TB free space). I (foolishly it turns out) stopped the backup and when the remove from TI failed I just deleted the files.

Now, when I create a new back up, TI thinks there are 26 previous versions and it can't find them and falls over. How can I reset the database and start over?

Cheers

Find the folder named "DATABASE" inside the Acronis folder.
Inside that folder is a file named "archives.xml"
Rename that file to "old-archives.xml"
The program will recreate this file.

All tasks will need to be recreated afterwards.

I would also make one more change.
Avoid consolidation or do not choose any consolidation options.
Instead, set up a custom backup scheme with automatic cleanup.

Look at link 2 below and depending upon which type backups you are doing, illustrations 11-Full or 11-Inc or 11-Dif will replace what you are using currently for a backup scheme. You can set the 6 and 4 examples to fit your own needs but do take the time to read the text associated with each of the 3 picture examples.

Using the Automatic Cleanup plus the "store no more than X recent version chains" will enable the program to do its own cleanup/backup deletion once your configured number of x recent version chains is reached.

Also, immediately after clicking link 2, look at the first picture. Using the "switch to disk mode" option is my preferred type of backup because it makes sure my backups are all inclusive and that I can create a new replacement disk with the least amount of error--as compared to a partition backup of all the same partitions.
