Universal Restore from Image made with TI 11 Home

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone:

I have recently read about the "Universal Restore" option, which will apparently permit you to restore an image to a new machine with different hardware. I use TI 11 Home at home.

Is the ability to restore to different hardware dependent on the version of the software that CREATES the image? If I needed to restore a TI 11 Home image to a new machine, could I do it? If so, what version(s) of Acronis' products would I need?

Are any of the products that will do a "universal restore" listed as home / home office products? Or is the universal restore option only available in the Enterprise ($300 - $500) products?

Thanks for any info. you may have.

Hello Daryl,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Acronis Universal Restore option is available in Acronis True Image Home 2010, it’s a home product so it doesn’t cost you much. Moreover it’s not necessary to purchase a full version, you can upgrade Acronis True Image 11 Home to Acronis True Image Home 2010 just for $29.99 using our online store. Then you should buy and install Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack (Acronis Universal Restore) as an add-on.

Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack can be used only with Acronis True Image Home 2010, you can’t use it with any previous versions of Acronis True Image.

Check the following KB article for correct installation of Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
