Lost hard drive space after cloaning WD hard drive with Acornis 2010?

Thread needs solution

Bought a Western Digital WD3200BETK 320 gig hard drive and down loaded the WD version of the software, I think 2010 (I recently downloaded 2013 hoping it would help).

After cloaning the hard drive using the automatic mode, the 320 gig hard drive now reads the exact same space as the original 100 gig hard drive 91.75 gb. I have tried all sorts of software to break what must be a hidden partition with no luck. In XP disc management the disc shows as 91.75 gb. I tried diskpart and no go with that either. I am using a Dell 1505 laptop with USB interface to cloan the drive. I upgraded to Acronis WD version 2013 and still no change after trying a few applications.

Interested in getting my full 320 gb back and appreciate any help you folks can be.

PS have hooked this hard drive up to windows Vista and windows 8.1 and both show 91.75 gb in disk management.

Post a screen shot of the Windows Disk Management graphical view showing the 320

Here is the screen dump. It is Disk 3 and is now connected to my Vista Desktop

thank you.
Click on link 1 below and review my index item 9-M.

Hi I am finally back to work on this project, sorry for the long time in between and thank you for trying to help.

First application in 9-M would not recognize the hard drive and pretty much every other application does (it is running on USB adapter). 2nd app I got diverted to another application that did not good so I searched for the Hitachi tool and downloaded it. It ran a diagnostic and said I needed to buy the application to fix a number of things that are unrelated. Third App is for Seagate and I have WD. Any other ideas to free up the hidden space?

Thank you again.

Drew

Most likely, the WD utilities will also do the job.

Don't see how this will help. Seems I have a hidden partition I need to get rid of but I will try it. Which app do I run out of the 4?

Ran the quick test and it shows drive capacity is 99GB and it has a green check and says Pass, what ever that means

Test Option: EXTENDED TEST
Model Number: WDC WD3200BEKT-22PVMT0
Unit Serial Number: WD-WX51C3244476
Firmware Number: 01.01A01
Capacity: 98.52 GB
SMART Status: PASS
Test Result: PASS
Test Time: 11:17:03, February 16, 2014

You might want to log into the Wester Digital forums and post your question there.
The disk will probably list on its label what the cylinder parameters.
You can try using some the windows DiskPart commands. The clean command may assist but there may be others.

Your attachment in post #4 shows you have other 320GB disks which are properly confgured. the label of that disk may provide additonal info.

the new 320 may be an Advanced Format disk. The lable will indicate if "AF".

Other things you might try would be to use a partitioning utility such as the free "Partition Wizard" and see what is shows about the disk.

I have a Seagate 320 which these parameters but your WD may differ
Cylinders 38913
Heads 255
Bytes per sec 512
Size 298.09 gb
physical sectors 625, 142, 448

Good luck.
