True Image 2014 Error - "Error occurred while reading the file"

Thread needs solution

Backed up all my partitions (7) to my HD MyBook 3TB drive. The backup is normally 750GB, and the log shows it completed with no issues. However, during the validation phase the following error was noted:

More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowledge Base.

Event code: Event code: 0x00040001+0x0000FFF0+0x8007045D

Of course there is nothing in the Acronis Knowledge Base :-(( about this particular error, which is why I am using the forum.

If anyone can provide some background, knowledge, etc., concerning this error I would be very appreciative.

Thank you ahead of time for your help!

The prob could be due to a momentary hiccup in you system or to something permanent such as a bad spot on one of your disks or a bad spot in memory.

You can check your disk by running chkdsk /f

You can check your memory by running memtest (a free utility--google for it) overnight.

Either way, the backup might be okay or not. If the backup completed okay and now you can't validate, it could be that the backup was okay when but the disk is bad and the tib is no longer sound. try copying the backup to another disk and trying to mount it (open it in explorer) or validate it there. If it works, then the backup is still okay.

You have a very large backup there, does your backup contain any compressed video files?

I have found one confirmed instance in which because TI compression was used during backup of already compressed video files TI errors during read back validation apparently due to an inability to read these files.

Solution was to disable TI compression of backup images for such file types.
