Acronis TI 9.5 Echo has an attitude
I have a client with TI 9.5 ent. Svr. backing up two servers. We were backing up images to disk, then copying to archive DVD so we were using the file size of 4.5 GB (or whatever the pre-defined value is.)
REcently we purchased a NAS device for backups and we changed the backup job to save the file as "Automatic" instead of a defined size (like 4.5GB) however, Acronis keeps splitting the archives (backups) into 4.5 GB files! I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times now and Acronis remembers the jobs (which I've manually deleted in the program) and recreated them. Still, after manually setting to "Automatic" I get 8 4.5GB files in the backup drive (and there's 1GB in the NAS)
How can I clean this setting out of Acronis and get it back to creating one large base file and lots of incrementals again?

Hello Bill and DwnNDrty,
First of all I'd like to thank DwnNDrty for his help.
Indeed, when backing up to a FAT32 internal hard disk drive, Acronis True Image will automatically split the backup archive to 4 GB volumes without any messages. The reason of this is that FAT32 file system doesn't support files bigger that 4GB. To avoid this file-splitting you need to re-format the drive to NTFS file system. For information on how to convert FAT disks to NTFS, please see Microsoft TechNet article: How to Convert FAT Disks to NTFS.
Please reply to this thread if there will be any additional questions or issues, I'll be glad to assist you.
Thank you.
