Slow response from the main application
Hi,
Firstly, here are my PC specs:
Intel Core i7-4770 3.50 GHz
16GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
My problem is, the True Image application itself responds very slowly.
If I click to open a backup's settings, it loads "OK" but if I change anything and press save, the application itself stops responding for 5 minutes or so (Sometimes more). This is incredibly frustrating as I am trying to organise my backups and do not just have one (I found doing smaller individual backups to be faster as despite asking it to shutdown my PC after finishing a backup, it stays stuck on the shutdown process asking me not to cut power).
Please can I have some advice? My version is True Image 2013.

I have done the "check for update" within the application itself and it says it is up to date. It has always been like this on this machine and the one before this one.

What I am hearing form you is that the program has always run slowly for you. On this machine and the system you had it installed on previously.
The software should be very responsive on a i7 with 16gigs of ram.
I'd start by performing a repair install of true image, rebooting and retesting application performance.
If you want to skip this step and be more thorough, I would download the latest build for the version you own from your acronis user acct. This is free.
I would run the acronis clean up utility Follow all steps completely
I would install the newest build straight away, bypassing any upgrades

Thank you, I've tried those steps and it does indeed seem to respond better. The odd time it stops responding but it has certainly improved :) I'll see how it goes and if I have any more problems I'll let you know.
