Thread needs solution

I did a full back up to a hard drive that is 750gb.
The back up used 390gb.
I tried to do an update using the Single Version back up scheme.
When I came back to the computer the message was..." The last back up has been canceled by time out".
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

Your problem is lack of storage space.
The program put forth a disk full error message asking for more space to be provided. The message timed out awaiting a response which produced the "time out" log file.

The single version backup scheme overwrites the prior backup but this overwrite does not occur until after the replacement backup has been created. Thus, you need an additional temporary storage space for another full backup (390 GB for you) or a need of 390+390=780GB. The 750 size disk has only 698 GB of usable space. Thus the disk full message. Your storage disk would need to be at least a 1TB (931GB usable or 1.5TB or 2TB (1.86 TB usable) to avoid the full disk error message.

In order to use the 750 to avoid the disk full error, you will need to find a way to delete the existing backup before the replacement backup is created so any replacement FULL backup begins with a empty disk. The delete could be done manually by you (using the TrueImage delete program as per link ) and the program history file would stay synced. Or, other delete options could also be done by simple batch file; or could be done by the helper program Chain2Gen listed in my signature link #1`, and index item 5 inside link 1. This last option could cause the program history file to be out of synched but still workable.
