Can't copy image file
I am running Acronis TrueImage as a testversion under Win7, 64 bit. My attempts to copy an imagefile to a USB 3.0 HDD always leads to the error: not enough capacity on target drive (I get the message in german, so the englich x-lation might be different). However I can copy the file to any directory pf my PC HDD. On the USB HDD have some 400 GB available for a 45 GB file.

Hallo wolf54
Ist die externe Festplatte NTFS formatiert? (Man kann kein 45GB .tib Backup-Archiv auf eine Fat32 formatierte Festplatte kopieren)

Good point G, question, for OP, have you set a low maximum pagefile size in your Win 7 OS? If so, increase the maxmum size of your pagefile to say 50GB or set it for Windows to manage size automatically and see if that works.

Thank u very much 4 ur suggestions.
The external HDD ia a NTFS drive.
I have set the pagefile to "automatic", and I have created an automatic pagefile for my D drive - the second partition of my internal HDD where the image file is stored. Still no success.

Have you rebooted your machine since making the changes? Can you provide the exact wording of the error message, english translation please if possible? Os there an error code along with the error message?
I would also suggest that you make sure that your motherboard bios is the latest version as well as the USB 3.0 driver files, check your motherboard manufacturer website or system maker site for them.

I reboot my machine every morning. The error message has no number, see attached file. As I am using a german win7 version, I get all messages in German, the translation is: top left: "the file is too big", below: the file is too big for the target system.

Strange, other than corrupt driver files for your USB ports I don't know. Do other USB drives work correctly?
You might try shutdown your machine, unplug the target drive and reboot. Once machine has fully booted reconnect target drive. This may trigger Windows to install the device anew to the system.
