I/O Error

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Thanks for reading...

We have Acronis 2009. We are backing up a Dell PC to an 1TB external USB drive.

All has been well for a long time until now. The scheduled backup says that it completes successfully, but when we try and double click any of the .tib files it says I/O ERROR, and displays an empty window for the new backup job.No other errors come up.

We cannot open any of the previous backup jobs either.

Please can someone let me know what this could be.

Don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case.

Try to validate the .tib files. Also, oot from the ATI bootable Rescue Media and validate the .tib files.
