TI reports empty source
I wanted to clone my server. The old disks are 160GB SATA conntected on a PCI 3Ware Controller as RAID1. The new disks are 500GB SATA.
First session:
I leave the old disks connected to the controller and the new disks connected to the mainboard. Than I created a second RAID1 with the new disks on the Intel OnBoard Controller. The intention was to clone from RAID1 to RAID1.
TI recognizes the old disks as ONE disk with 160GB, but the new disks as TWO disks with each 500 GB.
TI is not able to recognize the RAID1 on the Intel controller.
Second session:
I connected both the new disks to the controller and one of the old disks directly on the board (Intel Serverboard). Then i created RAID1 for the new disks and started the machine with my Acronis CD. The intention was to clone from the old disk directly to the new RAID1.
TI recognizes the RAID1 as ONE 500GB disk and the old disk as it is.
When i choose the old disk as the source for cloning, TI reports "an empty disk cannot be the source for cloning" (or similar message, we have a german version).
what is wrong?

Hello,
I have a similar problem trying to clone an internal WD drive to a USB Seagate drive.
I am using the latest Acronis version, on vista 32bit T60p.
Thank you,
Mickey

Hello Mickey,
I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.
I have checked your account and couldn’t find registered version of Acronis True Image Home 2010. If you have a serial number for Acronis True Image Home 2010 please register it on our web site using instructions from this KB article.
According to our registration data you have Acronis True Image Home 2009. I sent you a special ISO image of Acronis bootable disc based on ISOLinux loader via PM, this ISO has better hardware support than usual one and it will certainly solve the issue you experience.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you.
