editing backup does not change which files are backed up

Thread needs solution

I have a scheduled daily backup that goes to the Acronis cloud. I wanted to make some changes to which files/folders were being backed up. So I created a new subdirectory within a directory that was already being backed up and put some files in it. Then I edited the backup - unchecked some files/folders that were previously being backed up and checked the box for the newly created directory (and confirmed that all the files in it were also checked). Then I saved the changes and manually ran the backup. Logged into the cloud and nothing had changed - the new files were not there. So I viewed the backup log - the backup had completed successfully (no errors) but reported "No changes to the backup source."

Then I created a new backup just for the newly created folder, ran it, and it worked.

Why does editing an existing backup not work, but creating a new one on the same folder does?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Believe this happens because of the way in which TI retains backup location information. Do not know of a fix.

So it would seem, then, that the only way to have a single backup that takes into account the changes is to nuke the first backup and just create a whole new one? Hmmph. Really limits the usefulness of the edit function.
