Where is my data?
Hello,
Somehow I can't restore to many of the backup-versions that I make every day.
I run an incremental backup of my system drive automatically every night; one full backup after 10 incrementals and not keeping more than the last 60 version. So I thought I would be able to restore to any system-state of the past 60 days. You'll see the sequence of backup files created in the attached directory listing (system.txt).
Now, as I try to restore to a specific state, many of the backup-versions are just missing. No chance to get my system restored to a specific state.
So:
- where are my backups August 26-29?
- where are my backups August 13-17?
- where are my backups August 02-05?
- where is my backups July 25?
- where are my backups July 11-14?
(on August 19, for other reasons, no backup was taken...)
Any advice? Any idea? Thanks for any assistance...
PS: using TI 2014 lastest build: 6688 on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

GroverH,
first, I attach my backup settings (screenshot - 04).
And from the main backup screen (screenshot - 05) you see, that TI2014 correctly recognizes all current 67 versions.
Next, I wanted to verify the "Disk and Partitions" tab and I found very strange things:
Today, the missing backups are totally different from the missing ones of yesterday (screenshot - 06 and 07)
But in "Files and Folders" and in "Disk and Partitions" the exact same versions are missing...
Very strange!
Any comments?

#4: Deletion not scheduled to begin until chain 1 of the first 11 backups is older than 60 days.
#7: Note the files along bottom margin. Click on some of the dates and the listing of dates will shift.
To many files to show on one screen but clicking on an assortment of dates should make all to be available for selection but not all on one screen.

One reason may be you are looking at two different screens. Note upper left corner tab selection. 6 is the file view and 7 is the partition view.

Thats pretty clear and I have NO problem with chains not deleting...

Believe me, I've been clicking on where ever possible. Nothing is shifting. The missing versions are just not there.
I tied clicking again on the August 7, 18, 30 pads - see yourself (screenshots 08-10)
August 8-17, August 19-29, September 01-09 just missing... ??? ...

I am assuming that your backup type was a partition or disk type and not a files only backup. When attempting to view the missing files, use the "disk & partition" tab when viewing.
As for the some files missing from the display, use the technique as listed in GH21.
Browse to the storage folder and click on ALL 11 backups of the backup B15 so all 11 files are hightlighted and then click the "add to list" option.
Repeat and highlight all 11 files of B16 and add them to the list. Repeat with all files opf B17. Repeat with all files of B18. Repeat withy all files of B19. Repeat with all files of B20. Repeat with all files of B21.
Now reopen Acronis Backup Explorer and see if any more files are displayed. Remember, whether or not the files are displayed does not prevent them from being restored. If the files exist in the storage folder, you can use Windows Explorer and RIGHT click on any selected tib file and then from the TrueImage options, you can select the recover option and the preceding parts of that specific chain will be restored.
Added/Edit:
I do not have any storage folder similar in number of backups so I cannot reproduce your situtation. As I recall however, the time pointers along the top and bottom of the backup rectangles can be clicked and perhaps moved left or right. This may allow for more exposure of different files.
