Backup of System from SDD

Thread needs solution

Probably a beginner's question ....
After having moved my Windows 8.1 from hard disk to SDD I would like to perform a monthly backup of the system disk, so that I do not lose too many changes in case of some failure.
For the volume backup True Image 2014 offers the selection to make the backup bootable.
So far I have not selected "bootable", assuming that this would erase everything on the disk. Is this assumption correct? Or would True Image create some image file, which could then be transferred to a new system volume?

Supposing there is a SDD failure, how can I convert my non-bootable backup into a bootable one, e.g., overwrite my former system HD?

Any help will be appreciated!

You need not select that option. When you want to restore a backup, boot from the ATI bootable Rescue Media. You should create the Rescue Media now, either to CD-R or USB flash drive, and figure out how to get it to boot your system before you have an emergency.

Another tip: Do not backup just C:. Make a full disk mode backup, which will include even hidden partitions.

Check out the many user guides and tutorials in the left margin of this forum, particularly Getting Started and Grover's True Image Guides which are illustrated with step-by-step screenshots.

There's also a full on-line user manual, and a downloadable user manual.

Thank you very much! This was helpful.
I apologize for my late response. I had expected to receive notification of any response to my question via e-mail, like many user forums do - I probably missed to activate that functionality ....

Sorry for asking again...

Maybe because I run True Image in German I do not readily find this / any options for a "full disk mode backup".
Where is this hidden, as all I get (by now on True Image 2015) is a screen to select drives?

Thanks in advance!

I guess I wasn't explicit enough.
Following your helpful advice I had already checked this and other articles. However, I am on True Image 2015 by now and that version does not offer the "Swith to Disk Mode", or at least I couldn't find it.
