True Image 2010 Problems coming out of standby when Nonstop backup is turned on.

Thread needs solution

I have had major issues in Vista when coming out of standby when Nonstop backup is turned on. I have the backup data writing to a USB drive and everytime the machine goes into standby mode a I wake it up the system is very unresponsive. It will not shutdown properly and I have to do a hard reset. So, the only way to use it is to turn it off before putting the machine into standby and turning it on when I wake the computer up.

Any ideas as to what is going on? I really want this feature to work. Speaking of features it would be nice if you could visually compare different version of a backed up file in Time Explorer.

Thanks.

Hello Scott Eve,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Could you please provide me with the exact sequence of actions that lead to the issue you report, so that I can try to reproduce it?

Have you tried to turn off sleep mode? What happens in this case?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Hi I have exactly the same issue with Windows7 prof 64bit I have Build: #6053 installed
I have disabled nonstop for now as my PC was not even able to go into standby.

Is there anything I should be setting to make this work better or should I get another internal drive for my nonstop backups?

thanks

Hello Robert,

Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, this issue is well known, it was reported to our Development team, most probably the fix will be available in the next update for Acronis True Image Home 2010 which will be released soon.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We will keep you updated regarding the most recent releases.

Please feel free to ask me if you have any other questions concerning the products.

Regards,

Hi,

Thanks for the update Alexander

In the meantime I have installed a second internal SATA drive instead of a external USB one, and it has been working perfectly ever since.
However it would be better for me to have an external drive to remove.

Many thanks
