Is it safe to update and continue using same backups?
I've been adhering to the "Grover's Tips" on setting up and using True Image, which I didn't do before and I had some issues when I needed to use a backup. Now I have backups set-up correctly and I don't make any changes or adjustments to them. If I do need to make a change, I create a new back-up.
I'm getting alerts that there is an updated version of True Image 2014, but now I'm wondering if updating will adversely affect my back-ups. If you shouldn't make changes to your back-ups, does a version update count as a change? It seems like it should. I don't want to update and continue using my back-ups as usual, only to find out that I should have created and started new ones after the update.
What's the official (or non-official) word on Acronis updates and continuing to use existing back-ups? Is it safe to do so, or better to create new ones after a software update?

Thank-you for the information, it confirmed my thoughts. I'll play it safe and create/clone new back-ups and destination folder when and if I decide to update.
