True Image 10 boot rescue disk USB support
I have been using a USB connected hard drive to back up the image for my laptop. I needed to boot using the boot rescue dick created after installation. Unfortunately I could not recover the back up image since the info on the boot page indicated that the USB drivers are not loaded. Please explain to me how I can use your boot rescue disk to recover an image on a USB connected device on my laptop. This is a common backup scenario for laptops since they do not have more than one hard drive installed. If I cannot recover a backup image on a USB connected drive then what is the point of even doing the backup?
Thanks

Per the Bart website Vista is not supported. My two step process was to use the Recovery partition on the internal hard drive to boot to the recovered image, then install Acronis True Image 10 to recover the system to my last backup.

Another option open to you is what is suggested in item 9A inside my signature index.
Mustang's PEBuilder is an excellent alternative.
Item 9C might also be an alternative or create an Acronis bootable FlashDrive.

Hello all,
DwnNDirty and GroverH, thank you for your suggestions.
Chester, as another workaround I've sent you a Private Message with a download link to a bootable ISO image of Acronis True Image 10 Home. That new image based on a different bootloader (ISOLINUX) and includes a different set of hardware drivers so it should definitely work for you.
Please burn this image to a CD as described at this KB article, boot off your machine using it and check if the USB drive is detected.
Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists, I'll be glad to help you.
Thank you.

The new ISO image did recognize the attached USB hard drive as the only drive available. It classified the USB drive as the "C" drive and did not see the installed laptop "C" drive. I do not see how it would be possible to recover to the internal hard drive from the USB drive.

Hello Chester,
Please try another ISO image I've sent to you via PM. The new image is based on 2.6 Linux kernel whereas the previous one is on 2.4 kernel.
Thank you.
