Extractiong Data/Emails From Image Not Working

Thread needs solution

Ok So I have my Emails backed up in an Acronis TrueImage image file. I used 2 different methods: one image (Image A) where I backed it up which included the whole of the boot/OS drive and a second image (Image B) which used the Email backup method option in the program.

I can only access Image A, as trying to access Image B gives me this error message: "Specified Archive Cannot be Mounted As there are no Partitions." but if i double click it it says: "You can only explore disk and partition backup and file backup backups" so I may have done it wrong?

I can access Image A though, but only if I double click on it and don't try to mount it like the Image B method. I can navigate to the Emails, and when I right click it it gives me the option to either Open or Copy. I click copy and try to paste it some where but it won't paste. The only thing it does paste is the folder, but no files. Both images are *.tib.

The image was made from a Windows Vista Home OS, and I am trying to copy the files from the image to a Windows 7 Home Premium system.

thanks in advance

Sorry to bump this post, but I'm really desperate to retain my emails, there are 15,000 of them, and I don't want to lost them. Only thing I Can do at the moment is read them, and not copy or store anywhere else.

Please help

thanks

If it were me, most likely I would restore the full disk image to the old system. Then, I would either

a. find a backup system for that particular email program and create a standalone backup which then could be restored to Win7.

b. or create a new email client such as thunderbird and import the emails into the new client and then use a program such as MozBackup to create a standalone backup/restore folder and then restore the mozbackup file onto Win 7.

There may be other choices but I am not really sure how you might do this with TIH as there are so many difference with Win7.

I have not done the above so this is in theory but I have used MozBackup to backup and restore all my Thunderbird or SeaMonkey emails.
