Acronis please remove the 100MB/Second Hard drive Backup and Restore Limit
Acronis please remove the 100MB/Second Backup and Restore Limit when backing up to any hard drive, or please provide an option to disable it.
Most systems are very capable of greater backup and restore speeds.
This limit seems to be built into all versions of Acronis I have used.

Daniel,
My Windows 8.1 drive is two SSD's in Raid 0 capable of 900MB/Second and backing up to two Hard-Drives in Raid 0 capable of 350MB/Second.
Every other backup program, Windows, AOMEI etc. use the full speed of the target drive but Acronis throttles to 100MB/second - Please test it for yourself and you will not get more than 100MB/Second. This also happens on a friends PC so this leads me to believe it is a limit built into Acronis. (This not connected with the Network throttle Option as my target drive is Internal)
While monitoring Acronis whilst it backs up Taskmanager shows a sustained write speed of 100MB/Second. If I copy other data to the backup drive while Acronis is backing up the transfer rate goes up to 300+ MB/Second so it is not a system limitation.

PS Thanks for your relply.

Now I want to get a 2nd SSD and strip my OS :)
Thanks for clarifying your specs. It's a head scratcher, but one more question from me.
Have you tried playing with the Operation Priority option on the Performance tab (setting it to high)? I realize this is supposed to deal with CPU utilization, but I wonder if having it on Low (the default) might end up impacting the transfer rate base on the throttled CPU tasking to the process.

Daniel.
I tried all the available settings for priority, compression but the limit of 100MB/Second still persists.
Anyone from Acronis care to comment?

Billybigun.

There is a work around mentioned in this link: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/63656 but it would be nice if Acronis allowed the user to set the limitation as an option.

Acronis demonstrably limits the disk speed to 100MB/s. If you hack the files as described in the post linked above, you can get around the limit. The post also has a long discussion of why I think the limit is arbitrary and not needed.

Current default values for these settings. These are extracts from actual script files from within a stored backup.
disk image backup to both internal & external disk.
