Scheduled Backup just stopped working

Thread needs solution

Using TI 2014, on a windows 8.1 cpu, with an external 1TB drive. 666 Gb free sapce. I have TI set up to run a backup at 6PM every night. It creates a full image on day 1, then on day 2 & 3 an icremental mage. Day 4 a full omage, day 5 & 6 an incremental image. Day 7 a full image clearing out day 1's image. I had Acronis tech support help me set this up. It ran great for August and Sept. In Oct I noticed a "Fail" message and didn't do anything. It would make an image or incremental image as before. Then it started NOT deleting previous images as it was supposed to on day 7.

This week I tried to run a new image and it fails. Acronis customer MISSERVICE does NOT respond to emails. Attached is my recent Log File.

I changed nothing on my cpu form when it worked to now when it does not work.

Thansk in advance for your help

Please post a picture of your backup scheme.

Have you looked at your drive via Wiindows Explorer to make sure the target destination drive still has the correct drigve letter assigned. Often times, an insertion of a flash drive, camera, etc will cause Windows to assign those devices the drive letter needed for the storage disks.

You might find this link of interest.

You are going to need to stop using the old task and create a new task (or clone the old task), but
I would really like to see your existing old backup scheme if you would post a picture of it.

Some user actions which I have found will cause a working task to fail is
user edits
user deletions of old field.
change of drive letter on storage folder (when drive letter auto assigned by Windows)

thanks, excuse my ignorance, how do I get to my backup scheme to take a screen shot to show you.
It was originally set up by an acronis tech remotely, while I gave them control on my cpu.

It was set up and worked as follows
day 1 full image
day 2 incremental image
day 3 incremental image
day 4 full mage
day 5 incremental image
day 6 incremenal image
day 7 full image and REMOVE the full image from day 1 & incremental images from day 2 & 3
day 8 incremental image.

acronis tech said it was safest to only make two incremental images off a full image.
AND it makes sense to keep a coupl full images and corresponding incremental images for safety's sake.

gain how to I get the righ page to screen shoot for you?

Thank you for the picture. It was exactly as you described with nothing additional.

Look at your picture on this link and note the consolidating message above the green bar.
This message should not be occurring unless you had selected the manual consolidating,
or, if your backup scheme was set to limit storage size on the storage disk but I found no such settings.
If you task was not edited, then I have no clues as to why consoidation occurred.
The backups stopped due to this error.

Stop using this task and create a new task with all the same settings except use a different storage folder or sub-folder instead of your current folder which has the old tib files in it. We want the task to start with an empty storage folder.

If you were to examine your log file in more details for prior dates, they might give some indication of some action that occurred during prior backups.

You made no mention of any prior restore of a backup so I am assuming none occurred.
A restore could cause the backup task to cease.

I set up a new storage folder on the external drive.
I have log files to prior backups and will look into them.

Correct there was no prior restore.

I will let you know if this backs up without an error tonight.

Same problem, I am trying one more time.

Looking at this log file I see a reference to b25....tib file.
I am now at b34 level, and b25 was created and deleted last month.

b25 was created back in September and was the last good string of data.

I dont now if this makes sense. I think what is happening TI is trying to find the LAST uncorrupted backup and connect ti that file.
Sunce that file is long gone I am continually getting hung up.

How do I remove that "connection" and start fresh?
