Disk clone success/failure report

Thread needs solution

I am cloning a non-system, data-only disk using the Clone option in ATI. ATI did not reboot for this cloning operation, like it did for system drive clone.

The interface looks like it came from the famous Idiocracy movie. When I clicked on Start, I got no feedback that the operation had started or anything at all. Just clicked, and the Clone wizard closed. Nothing logged in the Windows Application log. Disk lights are staying on, and the disks initially performed a lot of seeking for 10-15 seconds, so I think that the cloning is progressing.

Anybody out there knows a trick how to check that the operation has completed? And how can I make sure that it completed successfully?

ATI would reboot only if it detects a system disk, to get out of Windows for the operation.
That said, we all recommend to do cloning operations from the recovery CD.

I never use the cloning tool in Windows and it is the first time the clone tool is a separate tool, so I cannot comment on the UI for this operation.

Thanks Pat, I'll try the recovery CD approach.

To be precise, what I am talking about is not a separate tool (nor it was in ATI2012, from which I have so unfortunately "upgraded"). In ATI2015, the cloning wizard is part of the main UI, the "Tools" tab under the word "Acronis" on the left side. Then click on the "Clone disk" button in the right pane.

You are right, I stand corrected. The clone tool has its place in the Tools tab UI. The fact that ATI throws in a shortcut to clone tool when installed threw me off.
