Clone Disk no longer working
A while back I purchased True Image 2015 and have it installed under Windows 7, 32-bit
Since then I have successfully used it to clone one 1Tb drive to another 1TB
A week ago I installed Ubuntu 14.10 onto the primary hard drive, so now when I boot the PC it presents me with the Grub2 boot menu and of course now has a couple of Linux partitions.
Today I went to Clone one drive to another for the first time since I installed Ubuntu (so the source currently drive has Ubuntu on, the destination drive only has Windows 7).
The clone failed, but the software didn't tell me WHY it failed. Why is there no log file???
My backup process is usually as follows:
- Start up TI 2015
- Select Clone Disk
- Select Automatic
- Select Source disk
- Select Destination Disk
- Now since installing Ubuntu I get a warning that Linux partitions are present and may affect the boot menu so get a Linux boot disk ready, etc but allows me to continue
- Then it allows me to restart and will clone one drive to another
This time it rebooted as usual, went through the 'preparation' phase of the clone (or whatever it's called) but after a few minutes the screen went blank and the PC rebooted.
I'm guessing it's having a problem with the new Linux partitions, but why? Shouldn't it be able to clone those too?
If not, how do I get around this game-breaking problem? All I want to do is clone my hard drive as usual.
Thanks
BTW, after this problem occurred I installed the latest update of TI 2015 in the hope that it would help. It didn't.

I have a similar problem when I try to clone. I don't have any Linux partitions, just a single NTFS one. I go through the normal cloning process, it gets as far as cloning, but after varying amounts from 30% to 70% it reboots the computer. I then have a destination disk where the partition has be deleted. Any one any thoughs

Sorry to hear that you also have a problem. I've just deleted my Linux partitions so later I'll try another backup and see if it works.
Additionally, I find it ridiculous that TI2015 is now so simplified that not even a log file is created. The interface appears to be dumbed down so much that it's bordering on ridiculous.
