Need Advice

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image 2009.
I would like to make a Backup of my 'C' Drive so that in the event of a crash or Hdd failure,
I can restore the Drive back to its original state.
So which is the best option to select for this purpose.
Should I select 'My Computer', 'My Data', 'System State' or the 'Clone Disk' option.
Thanks in advance for any help.

My Computer. And in one of the following screens, be sure to put the check mark against Disk 1. What are you using to hold the Backup/Image, another hard drive or the Secure Zone on the source drive?

Your best chance of success should you need to restore your system partition or move to a new or larger drive is if you have a Disk option backup which begins by selecting "MyComputer." This is a backup of everything on your system disk to include all partitions--both recovery or hidden. You can find more information by clicking on my signature index below and reading both items on 7-A. Other suggested reading is item #2 as well.

Will backup only the 'C' Drive as this is the system drive.
'D' is only for data and is a separate hdd.
Will be using an external hdd to hold the Backup Image.
Thanks for your help.

Have you looked at how your system drive is partitioned? Use Windows Disk Management graphical view to confirm that you have no recovery or hidden partitions. If you do have these, they should be included in your backup plus your drive C.
