Removing a backup in 2014, instructions are muddy

Thread needs solution

The instructions: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATIH2014/index.html#…

Are not what I am seeing when I try to do this. I am trying to remove the oldest backup since the backup device is full.

Instructions say: On the Backup and recovery tab, find the corresponding backup box and click the Recover button or click the gear icon and then click Recover files (in case of a disk backup).

So I click on the recover button and see the following

I have the right date, but I don't have a usable Recover Files button. Am I supposed to click the check marks??

Instructions have already left me behind because I don't know what I am supposed to do at the screen above.

Instructions say: In Backup explorer, right-click on the time line the version you want to delete, and then click Delete version.

I certainly don't want to restore anything. I just want to delete the oldest full backup to make room for the next backup.

As shown inside your attachemt, in upper right corner (about one inch down from top)m try
Click on the "Switch to disk mode" option and see if all 8 files show up across the extreme bottom row and the delete option should appear when you right click on a specific tib file.

From your description, I am not sure whether all 8 are all FULL only files,
or whether you have a mix of incremental or differentials.

Why not start with a new task which has automatic cleanup set on it so the deletion will be done automatically by the program in the future.

Extract:
Depending upon the type of backup scheme you wish to create, here is an example of each type. These can be set up for Disk image, or Partiton, or Files-folders backups. These example show how to set up automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion after it reaches your set goal of how many chains to retain.

Editing an existing task is not recommended. Better to start with a new task using a new non-identical task name and point to a new storage sub-folder so each task has it own storage folder/sub-folder.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme....Store/Keep 4 versions (chains). Use whatever number best fits the individual needs..

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. ...Keep Full plus 6 Inc per chain. Store/Keep 4 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. ...Keep Full plus 2 Diff per chain. Store/Keep 2 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

Switching to disk mode didn't show files, just more of the same, with no clear way to get to where they were saying.

I have added a lot to the disks being backed up which is why the archive disk filled up. This is why the settings I had were no longer working. I had adjusted the number of backups in the settings, but since I could not figure out how to properly remove the old backup to make room for any more backups, I ended up deleting the entire backup settings and starting over.

I have a notebook which has 2011 on it and it was not hard to find and remove the older backup files though still not very intuitive.

Thanks for the response...

This illustration may not be for your version, but try it.
Once on that screen, there is usually the "disk mode" option or the "Files" mode, and these two options are usually in upper left corner
