How to make USBstick bootable for WIndows XP

Thread needs solution

If I remember correctly, I have Acronis TI 2013. Approximately a year ago I backed up my (then) Windows XP Home w/SP3 to a USBstick. I discontinued using Windows and now using Linux. I want to make a USBstick bootable and install the XP backup to this stick so that I can, if needed, run my copy of XP on the USBstick. I do not have Windows installed. I want it format the stick to NTFS. I tried formatting the stick to NTFS using Linux. However, when I run the Acronis Rescue Disk, the stick is not recognized/found. Only the HDD (Linux) is found. Can you please help me?

Hi Michael,
Please see this thread:

Let the product do the work for you.

Are you trying to create a bootable usb stick with Acronis and store a copy of your XP .tib image on it, or you would like to create a bootable USB stick that you can run XP from? This wasn't clear to me.

As far as running windows from a USB stick or drive... This is not supported by Microsoft, and goes beyond the scope of support from this forum...
