Using Acronis Ture Image 2014, all of a sudden cannot make a backup

Thread needs solution

When I start Acronis True Image 2014 and click on "Disk and Partition backup" or "File Backup", I briefly see a small empty window appear titled True Image, which then quickly disappears. And there is no option indicated to go further.

The product is activated and has been used several times in the past.

In Windows Programs and Features in the Control Panel, there is no repair option, only an uninstall option What are my options to fix things other than an uninstall and reinstall?

If you want to spend more time troubleshooting, you can open Task Manager after you have executed ATIH and see if there is a process for it running. Keep in mind there may be other dependent processes such as scheduler... running as well.

If you don't want to mess with that an uninstall / re-install (reboot in between) is the next easiest step to perform. I would recommend using the same build of the install media used when you first installed Acronis. Or, you can download the latest build free from your Acronis User Account and use it to reinstall after a reboot. If you have upgraded the product from a previous version... ie. moving from 2013 to 2014 then I would run the clean up utility after uninstalling from Programs and features, following all instruction, before restarting and then install the latest build of 2014, currently #6688.

Thanks. I checked with Task Manager and Acronis was running. So I just did an uninstall, reboot and reinstall. And everything seems to be working properly now.
