Cloning problem
Acronis 15 build number 65.25.
I am attempting to clone my C drive onto a 2nd hard drive. The C drive is a 1TB drive about 1/3 full. The destination drive is a 1TB with nothing on it. It has been forematted.
When I begin the cloning, after a couple of minutes, I get a pop-up telling me the drive is full and I should empty the Recycle Bin.
I have tried twice. How can I convince Acronis that the destination drive is empty?

You mean you can't make a clone like you did in ATI 2012? Start at Windows and then reboot?
I just installed ATI 2015 today. I can't make a Boot Media Recovery CD -- Says I need to reinstall -- and when I go to reinstall, the only option is to uninstall.

Well, in theory you can initiate restores and clones from Windows. But it is highly recommended to perform these operations from the recovery medium. Time and time again we see users getting in trouble. It seems that with the advent of UEFI/GPT boot systems, things have gotten worse.

I just installed True Image on Win 8.1 on a new laptop, from the website. Trying to clone to a usb drive. The software forces a reset, after the reset, nothing happens?

Pat, I can't make a boot media iso or I guess what you are calling a recovery CD -- it says there is an error. I redownloaded the install and it "repaired" the install but still can't make the file or the DVD.
How can I get back to ATI 2012 that worked?

Linda,
You can go to the Acronis Support page, (link at top right of this page), log in to access your account, choose My Products and Downloads. This will show your products and allow you to download the associated software. In the case of 2015 you can click on the Boot Media tab to download the iso file for the recovery media. Download that file and burn it to CD/DVD/USB media. Once created you should be able to boot to that media and run the True Image application from there. In the case of USB media some USB media will not boot, usually this is because of how that media reports itself to the PC. SanDisk products are notorious for this.

Did a chat with the tech support -- he suggested uninstalling 2015 and reinstalling. Which I did. This allowed me to create the boot media iso image -- and I made a boot DVD. Used it to clone (as suggested by Pat) -- looks the same as doing a clone from within windows. I selected "reboot after clone finishes" and it went into windows repair at startup. (Not good).
Tried to create the recovery boot media (next item down after the acronis boot media) and it wouldn't install -- says there is still a 2012 version (which there is not) on my machine.
