snap deploy 5 uefi user-initiated menu

Thread needs solution

Here's a simple question. Just putting it out there.

Is the installable components menu from the PXE server in Snap Deploy 5 for a User-Initiated Deployment supposed to be the same for bot Legacy BIOS boot mode machines and UEFI boot mode machines?

HP is now shipping the Gen 9 series of servers with UEFI as the default boot mode and all servers and workstations will be going in this direction in the near future. This means that we currently have a mix of machines in our inventory. My (limited) experience with Snap Deploy 5 has a nice GUI screen for Legacy BIOS machines with icons and links to the menu options while the UEFI machines display a DOS styled text menu. I would prefer if the same screen could be shown to the end users regardless of the boot mode of the machine they are deploying O/S's to.

Am I crazy or should there just be the one nice GUI screen for all User Initiated deployments?

Attached is the GUI deployment screen for the Legacy BIOS User-Initiated deployments (sd5_-_desired_self-initiated_menu_-_bios_and_uefi.jpg) and the DOS style UEFI screen (sd5_-_actual_self-initiated_menu_-_uefi_only.jpg).

Should I be seeing the 2 different styles or should they be the same regardless of BIOS or UEFI boot mode machine?

Hi AlexanderK,

Did you look at the JPGs? Although I would prefer a nice flashy GUI I can live without it. The real problem happens to be that the UEFI menu does not give ANY option other than "Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Agent". I would have expected to be presented with the O/S options that I had set up for the User Initiated deployment.
