Harassment Pop Up -- Unlimited Cloud Backup Available New release of Acronis True Image Available

Thread needs solution

There is information and... then... there is harassment.
I have True Image 2015, and it seems that someone at Acronis has decided that all customers who have not upgraded to 2016 will be regularly annoyed until they upgrade... The means is simple, just send a popup until they purchase.
How is it possible to have Acronis stop this harassment?
Thanks,
Jean-Pierre

Hi John,

this is indeed an information pop-up which was supposed to inform our clients about a new version + offer a promo price.

Can you please clarify, how many notifications you've received?

Thank you,

Anna,

the idea that you have no idea what he is referring to is ridiculous. There are numerous threads about this annoying feature that there is no OBVIOUS way to turn off, and you have posted in ALL of them. You have had countless people in these threads, who never signed up for cloud storage, nor wanted to install the feature in the first place, complain bitterly about this. Your NON-Answer to these posts, continued insinuation that this is not a deliberate attempt at guerilla marketing, is insulting. I, and many other people, have paid for this software, and espoused our displeasure at this annoyance that has been carried forward in various iterations of this software for at least 2-3 years now.

Acronis, how about just TURN IT OFF already!

Oh its so nice to see that I'm not the only one bitterly annoyed with this "feature".  I came here only because after months of these pop-ups I've had enough.  I've used this product for years and years and I'm a big fan of making images as a great backup strategy.  Lately I get unprompted advertisements that come up on my screen.  I've scoured the product and see no way to turn off this SPAM.  The idea that someone thinks its ok to hijack a person's screen with unbidden ads is unfathomable to me.  It reminds me of those spyware products that we've all come across.

HOW DO WE OPT OUT OF THESE ANNOYING ADS??  I WILL NEVER UPGRADE OR BUY ANOTHER ACRONIS PRODUCT UNTIL THIS STOPS

There is no real way to turn it off. Anna has suggested in other threads that you sign out of the Acronis True Image app. While this does turn off the notifications, the next time you start the app, you have to sign back in as part of the Draconian anti-piracy implementation (as if anyone uses anything other than the rescue media for imaging, which has no such 'protection'). As soon as you do, the pop-ups come back. You can sign out again, but after you close the app, you will have to do the same nonsense all over again.

Anna and Acronis are well aware of this, and yet they keep touting this nuisance as a 'helpful feature' that other more appreciative, logical, and understanding customers want and endorse. Hogwash, and they know it.

I have posted several times about this issue and nobody has bothered to respond.  I'm getting a new one this morning about some "one-time special offer".  The cloud one seemed to go away for a couple of weeks until they decided to push this one.  It is not ok to have to clear an Acronis message that randomly  appears.  It is a hijack.

Yup, more advertising for products I don't need! This is ridiculous. Maybe time for a class action lawsuit?

I am no longer paying for adware on my machine. This Thanksgiving I'm feeling thankful for alternatives! Goodbye Acronis and good riddance

Paying for adware is a good way to describe it.  To use this product it is necessary to give it access to the deepest recesses of your machine.  Not hugely confidence inspiring to have the company continuously spam you with unwanted nag screens.

This is exactly what bugs me the most.  I'm giving them total acces to my machine and they abuse that trust by pushing ads at me and then giving me no way to even turn the ads off.  So alternatives?  I did a little searching and came across a couple possible candidates

Marcrium reflect (its free)

http://www.macrium.com/

O&O Disk Image 10

http://www.oo-software.com/en/diskimage-backup-your-data

Anybody have any experience with either?

Im also disapointed with this adware like thing that there come popups that throw me form my actually used application to the desktop.

While infor me about some senseless Cloud Storage for a backup software when the most people have a upload rate about 1-5 Mbit.

It would take a few days to image a full 1TB HD to this Cloud.

I have paid for this full version of Acronis and want a option to turn this off. This is not a trail version where I have to accept this.

Also I updated form 2014 to 2015 now when I use the boot stick to make a full backup of my system partition this pice of shit will not more recognise my RAID.

It's an Intel Raid Controler why I have to use my old version?

I was customer about 10 years but this software gets more and more rubbish.

I will also publish this to serval hardware forums where I'm very active to inform about your ignorace to your customers.

I will never more advice this software to my customers or people that ask me for a good backup software.
