Online Backup fails with windows error 'Acronis True Image Service has encountered a problem and needs to close'

I have been unable to run a backup as I get a windows error at 50% complete stating 'Acronis True Image Service has encountered a problem and needs to close'.

Online chat have asked me to ping and trace the backup server, both of which failed to get through! They also asked me to run Wireshark whilst backing up to record the network activity - great idea but Wireshark fails after 30 minutes and we all know how long a backup takes!

When the backup is running it appears to go (slowly) through ALL the folders and files in my backup set before carrying out a backup of the files that have been modified. I frequently see estimated backup times measured in days !

Has anyone else experienced similar a similar failure ?

Yes I am experiencing difficulty, you have given me Wireshark to monitor my network activity during backup, but it is of no use as it 'runs out of memory' after 30 minutes.

I only started to have this problem after support tried to (and did not) fix another problem.

The fact that I did not get a response from your server by pinging and tracing has not been looked into yet.
