how to completely uninstall and reinstall?

Thread needs solution

I'm an experienced computer user and have used Acronis without issue for many years. But now I have a bunch of problems with it, typical of what you read on this forum. As a first step I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. And I ended up with the exact same problems. It worked well for a few weeks and I suspect a Windows update to Windows 10 Version 1511 may have some security conflicts with Acronis. So, as a first step I would like a COMPLETE removal of Acronis and reinstall and configure new backup jobs. All Acronis seems to do now is constant system tray popups telling me how badly it works. Oh- and trying to sell me cloud backup when it can't even seem to backup to a disk plugged into the motherboard!

1) Remove anything Acronis related from Control Panel

2) Run the Acronis 2015 cleanup tool (there isn't one for 2016 yet, but it should get most of the leftovers....

3) Check the following directories and delete any "Acronis" folders from them

- C:\Program Files

- C:\Program Files\common

- C:\Program Files (x86)

- C:\Program Files (x86)\common

- C:\ProgramData (it's a hidden folder)

4) I personally use CCleaner and run it to clear our all my temp files and against my registry.  Some are for this, some are not as it "could" remove something important.  However, I use CCleaner religiously on all of my personal computers and have not had any problems from it (that I'm aware of)

Reboot and reinstall, but make sure you have the latest installer file from your Acronis login and not an old one or a trial one.  Install Acronis first and license it.  Then install the latest acronis media add-on.  Last, install the latest version of Acronis Universal Restore.  I don't use the cloud backup feature so can't speak to it, but this should theoretically give you a fresh/clean install
