Latest Build ends with errors

Thread needs solution

I installed the latest build, create a scheduld backuptask (should start every day at 9:00 pm and with validation.

Backup works, but then i got errors, validation did not work. What´s wrong. ?

Hi Ernst,

It's impossible to tell without more info! I assume you are using ATI2010 build 7046.

What/where are you backing up to. Again, assuming it is an internal or external hard disk I think the first thing I would do is double click the new tib to see what happens (it would normally open up so that you could at least explore it). Then run chkdsk /r on the source disk or partition. If this is your system then your computer would have to restart.

Can you post a screen shot of the validation error log entries?

I may suggest you to validate your backups using a separate task. If the validation still fails, please let me know the following information:

  • Have you backed up disks/partitions or files folders?
  • Where did you save your backup: external or internal drive, some network device, etc.?

Hello,

1.) the build is 7046
2.) Backup on an external Harddrive via esata-port
3.) I backup the whole disk (2 partitions and MBR) aktually used 80 GB and the external drive has 420GB
3.) Validation is not a separate task, i have marked the option in the backuptask

4.) If i start th task manually, i got not errors.

I have had the same thing happening with previous versions where a validation fails as part of the backup task but works as a seperate one, but not with 2010. Hopefully Acronis can help further as to why this happens.

The error looks like the attached jpg-file.

Maybe someone can help me.

Thank you for the screenshot provided, it helped a lot.

Looks like you are either trying to run the scheduled task under a user account different from the one the task was created, or the task script is missing. But we have a fix for that. Please kindly follow the steps mentioned in this KB article and see whether it resolves the issue.

Thank you for the screenshot, now the reason of the issue is clear.

It is related to some issues with Acronis Scheduler module which is responsible for all tasks in Acronis True Image.

thanks a lot. I think it is the 2nd version because on this machine there is only 1 user.

Dear Yana,

i did as described in the mentioned KB (scrip_fix and schedmgr). schedmgr get list did not show any tasks. i created a new scheduled task and saw an old unscheduled task (may be that this was the reason ?) I deleted this unscheduled task.

Question: Had i to a reboot after this action ?

After doing the actions described in the mentioned KB it works propperly fine.

i think i was a little too happy. After doing all the actions from the above mentioned KB the task from 20th of May works well, but the task at 21th of may ..... see attatched jpg.

I don´t know, what i should do ?

Let me assist you further.

Please try the following workaround:

- Download the http://www​.acronis.c​om/files/s​upport/sch​edmgr.exe file ;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start

This should delete all Acronis scheduled tasks on the PC.

You should manage your scheduled tasks from the scratch.

If the issue still persists, please collect AcronisInfo and submit a support request with the issue.

thanks for your answer. I think that schedmgr is a commandline based programm right ?
Can i start it, where ever i had downloaded this programm ?

Because i have a german version of XP prof. i think, i try ->start ->run ->cmd than cd in that diretory, where the Programm ist located right ?

You are absolutely right. In order to start the schedmgr you need to try ->start ->run ->cmd than cd in that diretory where the application is saved.

After that all commands should be available for execution through the command line.

I'm very sorry for we didn't mention how to run the Scheduler Manager and caused this inconvenience. Be sure I will send a request to improve the situation.

Hello Yana,

because today in Germany is a holliday (Pfingstmontag) i can try the schedmgr tomorrow. I´ll inform you what happens. I think, there are 2 older Tasks but i did not found these tasks. schedmgr as described in the KB with the parameter "get list" shows last week after scipt_fix no task. Schould i run these tool again or only schedmgr as decribed in #14 ?

i did so as in #14, but by "schedmgr service start" i got the message Can´t find the desireed path /programm and i got the error-message 03.

So i did a repairinstallation of ATIH created a new scheduled Task and tomorrow i see what happens
