Bootable Media Creator fails

Thread needs solution

I tried to use the Universal Boot Media Builder in my TI 2015 and it fails. It is apparently a known issue in the software. Details and KB page:

Cause: Issue in the product.
Solution: The issue has been fixed in Acronis True Image 2016.
Products: Acronis True Image 2015

So, I bought a product that partially does not work, and the fix for this is to buy it again ?

This does not seem right to me at all.

The article states the situation is from an upgrade of 2014 to 2015 as well.  I would clean uninstall and reinstall using these exact instructions and try again as I have had no issues creating bootable media with Clean installs of ATIH 2015 in the past.

You can also download the Acronis Universal Restore bootable media from your account as an .iso.  The .iso can be converted to a bootable thumb drive (if desired) using RUFUS or ISOtoUSB

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Symptoms
  1. You have upgraded Acronis True Image 2014 to Acronis True Image 2015.
  2. You have installed Acronis Universal Boot Media Builder.
  3. During media creation you select Acronis True Image 2015 components:
I upgraded from 2012 to 2015, not from 2014.I did a standard uninstall of 2012 first. I had already downloaded the ISO and created a boot CD. My concern is that no effort was made by Acronis to fix a defect, they just expect me to buy yet another version.
It doesn't matter what version you upgraded from.  I am almost certain if you do a clean uninstall / reinstall, your bootable media creator will work fine after that.
I can tell you that I've upgraded from 2014 to 2015 in the past and did not have the issue (that I remember).  However, I usually remove and reinstall to save headaches and the clean installs of ATIH have been much more stable (for me)... as many of the forum issues are a result of ATIH upgrades and/or OS upgrades with ATIH already installed.
Fred,
It looks like you're using an older version of the Universal Media Builder version 11.5.38938.  On the system I have 2015 installed on it is version 11.5.39003.  This component isn't auto updated when the True Image application is updated.  The latest version can be downloaded from your account or from the link below.
