Why does DriveCleanser shut down my computer?

Thread needs solution

I've used DriveCleanser to wipe a drive twice now. The first time I tried to wipe a 500 GB External Drive which was hooked up to my machine through USB. When I realized how slow it was I hit Cancel and when I got the dialog box that asked me if I'm sure I want to Cancel I hit Yes and then my computer just shut right off. I heard a poof and then everything went off.

The second time I used DriveCleanser after the operation was done it asked me if I want to view some information and I said Yes. After viewing the information I clicked on Exit and again the computer just shut right down.

This does not seem like proper behavior to me so can anyone tell me what's going on with DriveCleanser? I'm using ATI Home 11.

Hello,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
First of all, please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program #8101. You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About". You can learn more on how to download the latest build here. Update the software and see if the issue remains. If the issue still persists, please obtain mini-dump file and attach to your next post.
- Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties";
- Go to "Advanced" tab;
- Go to "Startup" and "Recover Settings";
- Choose "Small memory dump" in "Write debugging information" box;
- Close all the dialog windows by clicking OK buttons.
Now, please reproduce the system crash and send us the mini-dumps created. This will allow us to investigate the problem thoroughly.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.

Okay I was going to try the drive scrubbing operation again so I downloaded the .iso file for Build #8101. After I burned the .iso file to disk I booted from it and when I got the menu I did not even see Drive Cleanser listed anywhere. Nope.

Mind you, I did not install Build #8101 on my machine. I'm still working with the previous build there.

Okay I installed the new build on my machine and then made a new rescue disk from there. Now DriveCleanser shows up when I boot from the disk. Now I just need to try it out.

Tried it again. Still crashed. Shut my computer off again. I looked for a minidump file but can't find any.
